Day 109: Taking it easy at El Refugio

Volcan Lanin rising like King of the Earth

I can’t believe Volcan Pacaya blew its top yesterday! I remember thinking to myself after hiking Pacaya what a story it would be if it were to erupt after we left. Crazy… there’s definitely some real plate tectonic activity this year with earthquakes in Chile and Haiti, now followed by volcanic eruptions all over Central America. 第一百零八天: 在智利湖區的美好時光

智利的湖區。我們在波多黎各巴拉斯 (Puerto Varas) 住進了可能是全世界最舒適的旅館 － casa azul (藍色的家)。這名字改得非常恰當，就是很”家”的感覺；房間的 homey 環境讓我以為身在自己的睡房中，廚房大而設備齊全，我們覺得很愜意，也不想離開… Continued 繼續看…

Day 107: Volcanoes, Hot Springs and Flat Tyres

There’s bad luck, and there’s bad luck… and I’m in a string of real fuckin’ bad luck. Our rented pickup burst its tyre yesterday morning, got it fixed, only to have it burst again later that afternoon! The second time on a rocky dirt road in the middle of nowhere. 第一百零二天: 星期六的聖地牙哥 = 安息日???

聖地牙哥的主要廣場 Plaza de Armas

事情好像不受控制的一面倒地差，可幸我們還是遇到這國家的未來棟樑 － 大學生們。聖地牙哥的地鐵站有 wifi 區域讓乘客上網，但黃Glenn 和我的 iPod 就是連接不到網絡；旁邊幾位坐在地上的年青人很幫忙，毫無顧慮就借出自己的電腦，好讓我們搜集租車和相機維修的資料。言談間，我覺得他們很 welcoming，而且對外來事物持開放接納態度，與老一輩的智利人有天淵之別，惟願這些初生之犢將來可改變此地，另這裡變得可愛。 Continued 繼續看…
