I can’t believe Volcan Pacaya blew its top yesterday! I remember thinking to myself after hiking Pacaya what a story it would be if it were to erupt after we left. Crazy… there’s definitely some real plate tectonic activity this year with earthquakes in Chile and Haiti, now followed by volcanic eruptions all over Central America. There’s bad luck, and there’s bad luck… and I’m in a string of real fuckin’ bad luck. Our rented pickup burst its tyre yesterday morning, got it fixed, only to have it burst again later that afternoon! The second time on a rocky dirt road in the middle of nowhere. 事情好像不受控制的一面倒地差,可幸我們還是遇到這國家的未來棟樑 - 大學生們。聖地牙哥的地鐵站有 wifi 區域讓乘客上網,但黃Glenn 和我的 iPod 就是連接不到網絡;旁邊幾位坐在地上的年青人很幫忙,毫無顧慮就借出自己的電腦,好讓我們搜集租車和相機維修的資料。言談間,我覺得他們很 welcoming,而且對外來事物持開放接納態度,與老一輩的智利人有天淵之別,惟願這些初生之犢將來可改變此地,另這裡變得可愛。 Continued 繼續看…
