Day 128: Buenos Aires Gone Nuts

Delirium as Argentina scores their 4th goal

4-1. No better place to be than Buenos Aires to witness this landslide victory for Argentina!

Knowing how Porteños tend to be late starters, I was worried the 830 start would mean a quiet plaza San Martin. So wrong! The whole city was there!

The atmosphere was electrifying, totally blew me away… Cheering, chanting (some song about Maradona & the hand of God), yelling and lots of jumping around. It almost felt like a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. There must have been twice as many spectators today than the last game, we had to squeeze around for space. And how lucky we were to experience the whole place explode into delirium, not once but four times!

Early morning light, clear blue skies, goals galore and an ecstatic crowd – can’t ask for more!
